Whether you want to connect with people who have or have not had a specific pass, has or does not have an active pass type, we've put together a support article to offer some insights on using the conditioned event, pass_issued, and conditioned attribute, active_pass.

Active Pass
An active pass in Union, means that a pass is active and can be used to register for events in Union.
Union automatically creates sync'd segments for active passes, subscriptions, and tickets. If you're looking to create a general segment (or something more custom), you can create a segment using the attributes, active_pass or active_subscription , and use either true or false to fit your needs.
This example is a true statement, meaning, gather everyone in your Union account who has an active pass.
Having a general segment like this can offer you flexibility when creating different campaigns or broadcasts because you can use this as a filter.
You could also have a second general segment that captures anyone who does (or does not) have any active pass OR active subscription.
If you're wanting to create one that says they don't have an active pass OR an active subscription, it may look like this:
What is Pass Issued?
Using the Event condition, pass_issued, comes in handy when you're wanting to capture folks who have had a pass. This doesn't mean the pass (or subscription) is active. Simply, they've had a pass associated with their Union account.
When you click on People (for any segment created), you may be able to see which accounts have the attribute of an active pass or an active subscription (or both). A pass that's issued but not active could be an account that has had any pass but it's expired.
