Subscription Pauses in Union

We have outlined some of our most frequently requested pause flows and how they can be achieved in Union today!

Step 1: Initiate the Pause

To initiate a pause, you will click the drop down arrow next to the customer's subscription and click Pause.


Step 2: Pause Access & Billing: When Should the Pause Start?

You will have (2) options for when the pause should start:

Now

  • Will start the pause at the current date/time
  • Customer will not be billed during pause state

At a specific date

  • Will open up a date picker for you to choose the date for when the pause should start.
  • If you will be choosing a date for when the pause should start, the pause can happen (1) day before the current date/time.
  • You cannot retroactively pause a subscription (but you can change the billing cycle at any time).
  • The subscription will retain current billing cycle until pause begins. Then, the customer will not be charged during the duration of the pause.


Step 3: Customize your Pause/Resume

Below, you'll find our most common pause/resume flows. To learn more about resume options, please visit our support article here and some common ways to edit a paused subscription.

Open Ended Pause (Default)

This setting would set the pause now and allow an admin to click Resume on any date/time. You must must edit the billing date once you resume. Learn how to resume!

Resume & Bill on the Same Day

Set the Pause Access & Billing preferences (Now or at a Specific Date). Then, you'll click Until a specific date

You can click the calendar to open a date picker for when the subscription should RESUME ACCESS.

Once the dates have been added, the RESTART BILLING date, should automatically update.

Then, click Pause Subscription.


Different Resume and Billing Dates

Set the Pause Access & Billing preferences (Now or at a Specific Date). Then, you'll click Until a specific date

You can click the calendar to open a date picker for when the subscription should RESUME ACCESS.

Then, click on the date selector for RESTART BILLING AT. This is the date when the customer's subscription be billed.

Then, click Pause Subscription.


Once you have added your pause, you should be able to see these details below.
