How Attendees Can Be Checked In

Whether you're hosting a class, event, or workshop, keeping track of who shows up is essential. Union offers multiple ways to check in attendees, giving you, your team, and the customer the flexibility to manage the attendance! This quick guide walks through each available method so you can choose the one (or all) that fits your workflow best.


  • Check-In with Add Attendee
  • Self-Service Register and Check-In with a QR Code
  • Self-Service Kiosk Check-In

If your performance is set up as a virtual class, the registration status will automatically change from Issued to Redeemed when they join the livestream or video call.


Check-In with Add Attendee

Anyone with an elevated role (ie: Admin, Teacher, Front Desk) can use this method to check-in attendees. Be sure to see this in action by viewing our video tutorial here and for a more detailed outline, visit our support article.


Quick Guide:

  1. Click on the performance
  2. Click Check-In against each registration as attendees arrive
  3. As your attendees are being checked in, their registration will change from Issued to Redeemed.

Check-In the wrong person on accident? No worries! Click Undo Check-In:



Self-Service Register and Check-In with a QR Code

You can allow customers to check themselves in by scanning a location-specific QR code. When they scan it, they'll be prompted to sign in to their Union account—once logged in, their check-in is automatic!

If the customer hasn’t registered for the class or signed the waiver, they’ll be guided through those steps first. You can print the QR code directly from your Union admin account and display it at your check-in station. Visit our support article for a more detailed outline and a view of the customer experience.

Quick Guide:

  1. Go to Products > Self-Service > QR Codes
  2. Click Configure on Register and Check-In
  3. Select the location, the QR code Size, and click View
  4. You can choose to Print or Download PNG


Self-Service Kiosk Check-In

The self-service kiosk is designed to let your attendees check themselves in, either instead of with your front desk or in addition to your front desk, and is designed for use on either a computer or a tablet. If you would like to allow customers to search for themselves and check-in if they have a valid pass, please visit your settings. Quick Guide

  1. Sign In to your Union account
  2. Go to Products > Self Service > Check-in Kiosk
  3. Leave your device in an easily accessible location for your customers to check-in

You can sign in with an elevated role. Once you're in the Check-in Kiosk, no one will be able to access your dashboard. If anyone tries to exit or close, it will automatically sign you out of Union.
