Segment for a Specific Pass
You may want to create a campaign that's based around someone who has (or has not) had a specific pass since they became associated with your org. There are two different paths to creating a segment like this and this article will offer insight on both!
Begin by going to Segments > Create Segment
You'll want to choose a Data Driven Segment
Add the name of your segment. While a description isn't necessary, Union does recommend including a tag to boost productivity. |
An Issued Pass using the Attribute, pass_type_id
Let’s start with Union’s recommendation of using the attribute, pass_type_id. We realize that organizations may change the name of a pass or subscription. By using the attribute, pass_type_id, if someone from your organization changes the name of your pass, your segment will still work!
Here, you'll want to start by adding the Event condition, pass_issued as this will allow you to refine your condition.
As mentioned above, Union advises clients to use a passes specific ID. This can be found in your Union org by clicking on the desired pass name. You can copy the ID which you will be able to add to your Customer.io segment.
Once you have your pass_type_id, you can now drop that into the value in your segment. From here, click to save your changes. Once your segment has completed, you can click on People do make sure it's populating to correct data set.
An Issued Pass using the Attribute, name
Like the above, you'll want to start by adding the Event condition, pass_issued as this will allow you to refine your condition by stating specific passes.
You must have the exact pass name (or subscription) if you are using the pass name. Your pass name may auto fill for you! If you don't see your pass name, can either copy and paste the name from your Union account or manually enter the name in.
While there are exceptions for changing it to "contains", we would recommend beginning with adding the exact name.
Once you have your pass name, you can now drop that into the value in your segment. From here, click to save your changes. Once your segment has completed, you can click on People do make sure it's populating to correct data set.
