Understading a Restream vs. Replay
There are (2) types of views a customer can access recorded content:
- Restream refers to re-watching a live stream within 24 hours after the class concludes. *Available if no interruptions during livestreamed class.
- Replay refers to accessing historical or pre-recorded classes from the orgs replay library page.
Feature Aspect | Restream | Replays |
---|---|---|
Availability | Available for up to 24 hours after class. | By default, once a registration has been made, students have 48 hours to view the replay. Studios may change this in their Settings (Online Events and Replays). |
Access Method | Immediate access after the live class ends as long as the student was registered for the livestream (whether attended or not). Will be located in Past Registrations. | If the org chooses to mark the replay as Public, it will be in the org’s Replay Library. |
Eligibility | As long as the student was registered and there were no challenges during the livestream (i.e. healthy stream). | Accessible if customer has appropriate pass. |
Purpose | Access to the live content whether they attended or not. Guarantees the student can view the live class in case the studio chooses to not publish or publish immediately. | Evergreen content. Students can view and purchase once the class, workshop, training has ended. |
If your performance was scheduled via an External URL (such as Zoom), a restream will only be available if the recording is uploaded after the scheduled performance. If the recording is uploaded after the performance has ended, a restream will not be available.
