Valid Options on Passes and Tickets

By default, passes on Union will become active when the pass is purchased. However, you can choose the validity period for any pricing option.

  • Starts at Purchase: The valid period begins when the pass is issued to the customer.
  • Starts after first Registration: The valid period will begin on the day of the customer's first registration.
  • Only During: Setting a specific date range for when the pass can be used.

Starts at Purchase (default)

The pass becomes active the moment it’s issued to the customer—whether from a purchase or as a bonus tied to a subscription. In the example below, this is saying the pass will expire 3 months from the purchase date.

Starts after First Registration

Selecting this option sets the valid period to begin when the customer registers for their first class—not when the pass is issued. Use this if you want to give customers full value from the moment they start participating.

Example: You offer a “2-Week Unlimited” new student special. If someone buys it today but doesn’t register until next week, their two-week access starts from the day they register, not the purchase date.

📝 Note: You’ll need to enable this setting on each pass individually. Union uses the date of first registration or replay access—whichever comes later.

For instance, you have a new student special that gives customers unlimited access for 2 weeks. Unless the customer is registering for a class that day, the pass life would be valid, 2 weeks from the customer's first registration.

By enabling SET VALID RANGE AFTER FIRST REGISTRATION, the valid period will begin when the registration was created (i.e. replay access) OR after the customers first registration (which ever is greater). *NOTE: if this option is desired, you will need to set it for each pass.

Only During

When selecting the pass valid period as Only During, you're able to set a time limit on when the pass can be used. In the example below, the pass will be active from 6/1/25-8/31/25.

The pass will be in your customers account (All Passes) with a badge letting them know the pass is not currently valid.
