Creating a Live Course in Union
This feature is currently in Beta. If you would like to access this feature, please contact support@union.fit.
Creating a course in Union allows you to offer a structured experience that can include live scheduled classes, replays, and additional text! This is great for those who are looking to create a YTT, a workshop or any other series event that could include more than just your live class registrations.
Start by visiting Courses > New Live Course
Like any event on Union, you'll want to add your course details (name, description, main image).
Then you'll add the details for the live class dates. If you do not want to accept registrations once the course begins, simply uncheck, Attendees Can Register for Series After it Starts.
If you are including replays and additional content, you will be able to include this after. Simply begin by adding in the live class dates.
Next, you'll want to choose how your customers will pay to get access to this course. The pricing options include:
- Passes (using event categories) Only
- Tickets Only
- Passes and Tickets
The most common example for why you would want to use passes and tickets as payment options is if you want to include it as a membership perk for subscribers but also accommodate folks who want to purchase it à la carte.
In this example, we selected the appropriate event category to include specific subscription. To include a ticket option, begin by clicking Add Ticket.
Union's standard ticketing builder will pop up for you to add the courses pricing option(s).
Once your ticket(s) have been added, add your payroll and revenue category and click Create Event.
Click the courses link to start editing/adding your content.
Editing your Course Content
So, you've created your course! Let's take a tour of ways you can customize your course to make it your own!
Editing your Live Classes
When your course is created, you'll find all of your live classes grouped together. You can identify these live classes by the People icon.
You can edit each performance name, description, include a download, and even move it to a specific section!
Creating a New Section
Are you looking to break out your live classes into weeks? Maybe you want to add sections for bonus content that include a mix of text, replays, and images. Adding a new section will be a great place to start!
Give your section a name and add a date for when the content in the section can be accessible.
Once your new section has been created, you can start adding your custom content by clicking Add Item.
Adding Replays
When choosing Replays, you can access your entire replay library! Use the search bar to find specific replays or the filters to Add any and all content that is needed for your course!
When you add a replay, you can edit the name, description, include a download, and choose if you would like it to be available for the public to preview!
Public Preview will allow customers to view the full video before purchasing the course.
You can easily reorder your replays by dragging and dropping them into your preferred sequence.
Adding Text and Images
If you'd like to add more context to your course, you can use text and image sections to guide your students between classes. This is a great place to share weekly themes, journal prompts, reflection questions, or visuals that support your content. These sections help create a more cohesive and intentional experience for your students — especially when combined with replays, downloads, or live sessions.
Preview your Course
Once you're ready to see what your course will look like to the public, click Preview.
Once you're inside the course, you’ll see a progress bar at the top of the page to help track your your customers progress. Each live session, replay, and any additional content — like journaling prompts, text sections, or downloads — will be clearly organized so students can move through the course at their own pace. Everything is laid out in sequence, making it easy to follow along.
If you ever need to edit the live class schedule or edit the pricing, click the drop down arrow next to Preview and select Edit Info & Pricing. Click Publish when you're ready to sell your course!
