Stripe to Stripe Migration Process

If you are migrating to Union and have a Standard Stripe account, there are three different self-service copies that can be performed; Full Copy, Partial Copy with Customer Selection, and Partial Copy with CSV Upload. When you and your onboarding team member have verified your migration dates, you may find it helpful to use this as a guide if needed.

Full Copy Migration Process

1. The Stripe account owner of your org will initiate the migration request.
2. The recipient (Union) authorizes and accepts the customer data from you.
3. The copying process finishes.

Step 1: Union Client Initiates Data Copy

1. Log into you Stripe account and navigates to the Customers page. *Must be the owner of the account
2. Click Copy customers.
3. In the Copy Method field, click Copy all customers.
4. Enter the account ID (acct_xxxx) you were provided with from your onboarding team member and click Continue. *If you haven’t previously shared customers, you may receive a message stating that the recipient needs to authorize your request before the copy occurs.
5. Click Confirm.
6. After successfully sharing the data with Union, you can see the pending copy request at the top of your Customers page.
7. Please notify your onboarding team member once submitted

Step 2: Union Authorizes and Accept Customer Data from Client

Once Union has been notified the migration has been initiated, Union will authorize and accept the request.

Step 3: Complete Copy Process

Most data copies finish within 72 hours after the steps above have been completed. Copies fewer than 10,000 can be complete within a couple hours. Once the process is complete, Union and the client will see a completed banner at the top of the Customers page in the Dashboard.

Partial Copy with Customer Selection

There are three steps to complete a partial data copy by selecting customers in the Dashboard:

1. You will selects customers and shares the customer data with Union.
2. Union will authorize and accept the customer data
3. The copying process finishes.

Partial Copy with CSV Upload

There are three steps to complete a partial data copy by uploading a CSV file containing a customer ID list:

1. You will upload a CSV file containing a list of customer IDs
2. Union authorizes and accepts the customer data
3. The copying process finishes
