Branded App Process

To begin, it is highly recommended you have an active Apple Developer Account because then, you'll own the app in its entirety! Click here if you need to enroll. Once you’ve completed your enrollment, here’s what a quick view of what the process will look like:

1. You'll be adding the Union engineering team as an admin to your developer account.

2. Union will be using your business details in your Union settings. If you would like to customize the app icon for example, you can update these by visiting Union > Branded App.

3. Union will submit the app as Apple goes through their approval process. Your support specialist will provide any updates they receive during this time. *24-48 hours but can take up to a week

4. If the app is approved, you will be able to push it live to the App store.

A Closer Look

Apple Developer app Account

You must have an Apple Developer account to begin. If you do not have one, click here to begin the enrollment process. When enrolling as an organization, you will need the following to get started: 

  • A D-U-N-S Number
  • Legal Entity Status
  • Legal Binding Authority
  • A Website

Once you have completed your enrollment, please contact your support specialist for the email address that will need to be add. 

An Apple Developer Account costs $99/year.

Customize your app details

When you begin your branded app process, Union will enable the Branded App marketing tool to your admin dashboard (Marketing > Branded App). Union submits your app for review and will be using the details in your general business settings (i.e. logo). If you would prefer to customize some of the marketing details, you must update this by the date provided by your support specialist.

Submitting your branded app

Union will submit your app and will keep you updated with any progress. This process normally takes between 24-48 hours, but can take up to a week. During this process, your Union support specialist will provide updates along the way.

Optional: If you would like to TestFlight your app, please let your onboarding manager know. You will receive an email notification with a link to download the TestFlight app. Once you click, “Install/Update” and it will replace the existing app on your phone. From here, you can view the app to verify you would like Union to submit this version. *Note: This does NOT mean it is live for your clients. 

Making your app live in the Apple app store

Once your app is approved, you will have the ability to choose when the app will be available in the app store!
