Troubleshooting Continuity Camera

If you're experiencing difficulties using Continuity Camera with OBS on macOS Ventura/iOS 17, please follow these steps:


  1. Connect your phone to your Mac using a lightening cable.
    1. When prompted, click 'allow' to trust the computer.
  2. On your iOS device (iPhone or iPad), go to Settings (the gear icon) and search for "Continuity."
    1. Make sure it's enabled.

  1. Enabling Continuity may trigger a dialog on your Mac indicating the need for a software update.
    1. Click 'Install' and wait for the update to complete.

  1. In FaceTime, go to the video menu item and check if you can select the camera.

If Continuity Camera is now working, proceed to test it in OBS. If the issue persists in OBS, try removing your iOS device as a source and then re-adding it.
