Day of Livestream with Larix Broadcaster

This guide provides a step-by-step process to ensure a seamless livestreaming experience. From setting up your gear to conducting a livestream test, we've covered it all. Follow these instructions to make your classes a success!

Step 1: Speed Test

  • Conduct a speed test to gauge your internet connectivity. This will ensure a smooth livestream.
    • If your upload speed is under 10Mbp, we recommend that you decrease your resolution to 1280x720 in the Larix app under the video settings.

Step 2: Prepare Your Streaming Device

  • Activate Do Not Disturb mode in device settings.

  • Adjust settings for silence, phone calls, and repeated calls.
  • Connect your wireless earbuds or wireless mic for optimal audio quality.
    • For Wireless Earbuds (e.g., AirPods):
      • Insert earbuds before starting the stream.
    • For Wireless Mic:
      • Ensure adapters are connected and phone is charging.
  • Mount your phone on a tripod in landscape view.
  • Plug in a power source to prevent battery drain.

Step 3: Sign In to Union

  • Access your dashboard to view upcoming classes.
  • 15 minutes before class, the Check-In button changes to "View Stream".

  • Open Larix on your phone and click the record button.

  • After 15 seconds, camera status changes to "camera active".

  • Click "View Stream" to enter the Union Streamboard.
  • Mute your feed to prevent feedback.
  • Leave your stream running for students to join before class.

Additional Tips:

  • Ensure you set up your device correctly before starting:
    • Connect Bluetooth mic, open Broadcaster, and start streaming.
  • Verify HD Video settings in Larix (1020x720 or 1920x1080 based on studiosupload speed).
  • Enable Do Not Disturb mode and adjust Auto-Lock settings.
  • Keep all devices charged, or plug them in while streaming.
  • Disable Bluetooth on surrounding devices for a seamless connection
